innovative ideas become companies, with the Start Cup Torino I3P Incubator

You have until April 20 to register for the 2011 edition START CUP PIEMONTE VALLE D'AOSTA, competition every year to race the best business projects with a strong innovative content.

Promoted by the three universities in Piedmont and organized by their respective incubators, the competition provides an opportunity to turn an innovative idea into a business project.

The competition is free. The total prize money is € 100 thousand, with special prizes for ICT and for those who choose to install the new activities in Cuneo, Novara, Vercelli and, new this year, in the Valley d'Aosta.

Winners Cup Start of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta to compete National Award for Innovation-PNI, the "Champions League" project enterprise born in the university. Absolute novelty this year is celebrating the 150th anniversary of Italy, the PNI will be organized in collaboration with another competition of business plans, Working Capital, as part of Experience Italy 150.

The final one of the two awards will be held in Turin in November.

now in its seventh edition, Start Piedmont Cup already has numbers from cover. The competition was founded in 2005, with 108 ideas submitted including 44 that were implemented in business plans. In subsequent years there has been a steady increase, up to 264 of 2010 (+67% compared to 2009), involving 566 applicants (+65% compared to 2009). Among these, 95 reached the final business plan well, which were then selected by an evaluation committee made up of investors, entrepreneurs and academics on the basis of the validity of the technology and innovation.

Start Cup Piedmont is a real test for "flush out" talent and a driving force for success. The winner of the Start Cup 2010 Piedmont, ET99, which has developed an innovative converter Electricity, ranked second in the National Innovation Prize, awarded to Palermo last December 3. And they have participated in the various editions of Start Cup Piedmont also Electro Power System, which was founded in 2005, has received investments of over EUR 10 million from several venture capital funds.

Among the successful companies also passed through Piedmont EPOS Start Cup, after the primacy of Piedmont, was awarded the PNI in 2008 and was ranked second in the talent of ideas, the competition for innovative projects organized by Confindustria and Unicredit.
